5-Day Devotional: Living Your Faith with Confidence

5-Day Devotional: Living Your Faith with Confidence

This devotional is meant to help your kids live out their faith, not just hear about it.

As a homeschool mom, I’m with my kids throughout the day. I see how they think, how they respond, and how they process things in real time. More than anything, I want them to truly know who they are in Christ and to walk that out with confidence in their everyday lives. God didn’t call them to shrink back. He created them to shine, to speak truth, and to stand firm in Him.

Scripture reminds us, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” This isn’t something our kids have to grow into someday. It’s something they can live in right now.

Using this devotional in your home doesn’t need to feel complicated or overwhelming. In fact, its strength is in its simplicity. You can sit down together and go through one day at a time by reading the Scripture out loud, reading the truth for the day, asking the question, and then praying together. It takes only a few minutes, but over time it creates a steady rhythm that begins to shape how your children think and respond.

What matters most is not just the moment you sit down together, but what happens after. This is where it really comes alive. Throughout the day, you can bring the truth back into real situations. When your child has an opportunity to be kind, you can remind them to speak life. When they feel unsure or hesitant, you can remind them that they can stand firm in truth. When they hold back or doubt themselves, you can point them back to who God says they are. In those everyday moments, you are helping them connect what they are learning to how they actually live.

This approach doesn’t have to be rigid or structured in a perfect way. It can naturally fit into your day, whether that’s in the morning, during homeschool time, or even later when you need to reset the tone of the day. It becomes part of how you lead your home, not another task to complete.

Many families also find it powerful to come back to the truth at bedtime. Ending the day by speaking truth over your children and praying with them allows them to go to sleep with those words rooted in their hearts. It reinforces what they’ve learned and helps it settle deeper.

Another important part of this process is giving your children space to engage. When you ask the questions, allow them to answer in their own words. Encourage them to think about how they can live it out. This is how they begin to take ownership of their faith instead of simply repeating what they’ve been told.

Over time, this consistency begins to produce real fruit. You start to see children who know who they are in Christ, who speak life more naturally, who trust God more deeply, and who walk with a growing sense of confidence in their faith. It shapes how they think, how they respond, and how they move through the world.

As a parent, you are already leading your children every single day. When you intentionally speak truth and guide them in how to live it out, you are building something strong inside of them. You are helping form a foundation that will hold when challenges come.

At its core, this is about raising children who don’t hide their faith but live it. Children who carry light, stand in truth, and walk confidently with God. This devotional is simply one practical way to begin building that into your home.

Guard their hearts.

Hello! I’m Elle Angel. I’m an author, speaker, and podcaster, but at the core of it, I’m just a mom who cares deeply about what gets planted in people’s hearts, especially kids. I’ve spent years teaching in both formal and informal school settings, as well as serving in kids ministry. I honestly love the sweetness and honesty of kids, and yes, even the chaos that comes with it. There’s something about it. It’s loud and messy and full, but it’s real.

What gets me every time is when something clicks for a child. You can literally see it on their face. The moment they understand something new, the moment it makes sense, the moment they feel it. It’s like a light turns on.
And when that “click” is about who they are in God, or how much Jesus loves them… there’s nothing like it.
